Goals and Membership
As well as being a network for women, Women in Mining Finland aspires to
increase the appreciation in the education and know-how of female professionals.
We promote equality and diversity within the mining industry, and will encourage girls to pursue technical and scientific education and careers.
WiM Finland will also work to increase the appeal of mining industry as a
prospective employer of women professionals.
WiM Finland pursues open and dispassionate discourse on the status and
opportunities of women in the mining industry, and the benefits of diversity in management and organisations.
In our view heterogeneity in corporate organisations, in addition to gender
balance, includes diversity of age, nationality, education, etc.
A more diverse mining cluster would contribute to the industry as a whole,
through improved efficiency and profitability.
